Responsible Gaming

Online gaming should be entertainment. When it stops being that, it becomes a problem. This page covers how to keep it under control — and where to get help if it has already gone beyond that.

Who should not gamble

Anyone under 18 years of age

Anyone with a history of gambling addiction or problem gambling

Anyone gambling with money they cannot afford to lose

Anyone under the influence of alcohol or substances

Anyone in a financial situation where losses would cause significant hardship

How to keep gambling under control

Set a budget before you start. Decide how much you are prepared to lose — not win — before each session. When that amount is gone, the session ends. Do not access additional funds to continue.

Set a time limit. Decide how long you will play before you start and stick to it. Live casino games and cricket exchange markets are designed to keep you engaged. A timer helps override that.

Never chase losses. Increasing your stakes to recover money you have already lost is the most common path to serious gambling problems. If you are down, stop. Come back another day with a fresh budget.

Do not gamble when emotional. Gambling under stress, after an argument, or when trying to escape a problem leads to worse decisions and higher stakes. The platform will still be there when you are in a better state.

Take regular breaks. Step away from the screen between sessions. Extended periods of continuous play distort judgement and make it harder to stick to your limits.

Warning signs of problem gambling

  • Betting more than you can afford to lose

  • Chasing losses — increasing stakes to recover money already lost

  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling

  • Gambling is affecting your work, relationships, or daily routine

  • Feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling

  • Hiding your gambling activity from family or friends

  • Spending more time gambling than you intended

If more than two of these apply to you, seek support before continuing to gamble.
